Balloon Twisting At the Party

I don't feel like I ever got a chance to post pictures of some of the Balloons that I twisted at that Chinese New Year Party ~ from Months ago.  Happens. 

Here's a few of them.  My Balloon Parties are so Upbeat.  We are all so familiar with simple designs like the Basic Balloon Dog, that we might forget that we all have to use our Imaginations to 'Name That Balloon'.  But my Style of Balloon Twisting encourages that.  My Style tempts the Party Guests to let loose and have fun.

Pig and Rooster

Oh boy this is going to be an interesting day.  Getting ready for the last minute Chinese New Year's  Party.  Balloon Twisting.  My Client wants the Children to be able to choose any Animal of the Chinese Zodiac.

These are not the animals that a  Balloon Twister usually makes.  So far, my ideas for the Pig came out great ~ It's simple.  But the Rooster ~ lol ~ this one had me laughing.  Looks like I'm going to be up all night to dream up different ideas









Next Day Follow Up ~ Good Morning Everybody!  So far I figured out the Pig, Rooster, Rat, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Monkey, and Dog.  And I eeeks have to leave now.  To make sure I'm not late.

I hope I will dream something up for the Tiger, Rabbit, Goat, and Ox on the way.  Ox??  Last minute Gigs ~ they are what they are.  We will laugh and have fun

Balloons for Chinese Zodiac

Got to Switch Gears!  Just booked a Party for Tomorrow!  Balloons!  And my Client said "It's a Party for the Chinese New Year".  And she would like the "Children to be able to choose the Animals of the Chinese Zodiac" for me to Twist. 

Oh Oh K.  I was at a restaurant ~ Quick, some paper please?  The waitress gave me a few little pieces of paper.  I started coming up with some Balloon Ideas.   So far, I got the Pig and the Rooster.

Last-minute Booking

I was coming home from an amazing long day of drawing FASHION SKETCHES at a Corporate Event in NYC ~ When I was contacted by a new Client.  That was just before I got on the LIRR Train to come home.  By the time the train 'landed' in Wantagh, I had booked a BALLOON Twisting Party for the next day ~ less than 24-Hours notice!

Happily scrambling around ~ getting travel directions, clothes, refreshing my BALLOON Supplies, making new Signs......  Barely slept before I ran into the 1-year-old boy's Party.  The Children were Wonderful.  The Babies were so... Babies!  The Adults were gracious and appreciative.  The BALLOONS were so much Fun ~ as always.  Oh ~ It felt like a Whirlwind of Happy Joy!

When I got home (since I'm already ready for tomorrow's booked-well-in-advance CARICATURE Event at an Assisted Living Center), I was able to develop some more ideas I came up with at today's BALLOON Party.  I'm building a knot-tying-assister and adding Heart Wands to my Go-to Sign.  And I put Business Cards into my Supply bag ~ hoping I don't forget them next time.

And Wow!  I'm still feeling sooo Happy.  My Client still thought of me ~ took the time to send me the following email: 

Thank you so much for today and on such short notice.  The kids loved you. 

 I hope I get around to checking out the Photos that I took at the Party.   Hoping I'll get a chance to post some on this blog.

I miss those days when I used to work at Central Park.  I don't miss all the work it involved, but I only stopped going because they stopped giving out Permits, and I felt insecure about going out there without one.

Balloon Pearls

I did it!  Determined to figure out why I couldn't count on my #BALLOONPEARLS to hold up, I made a row with a dark pink balloon that I attached to a white balloon.  Even though I #TWIST IN THE SAME DIRECTION, as all Professional Twisters do, some of them came out.  As usual.  But I figured it out on my Very Next Balloon.

I attached a light pink balloon, made the row of #balloon pearls the same way as I did with the dark pink balloon, and I HELD BOTH THE BEGINNING AND THE END OF THE ROW OF PEARLS UNTIL I ATTACHED THEM TO THE WHITE BALLOON  I figured out that that was what I was missing.

Then, what to do with this pink, white, and #pinkballoon.  What is it?  I stuck a heart on top and turned it into a Diva.



Excited with my new #Balloon Pearling Skills, I tried it again just to be sure.  I over-made Lots of #Balloon Pearls onto a #Crown.

Twisting Balloons can be Hard Work

Balloons feel great.  They bop around, they're filled with air.  Lightweight.  They smell good.  They move gracefully.  They're even attractive when they get old and wrinkly.  And I love that little nozzle at the end where it's tied.

But whew, this pretty balloon was Haaaard to make.  It felt like I was free when I finished it.









 I felt like I was mangling the heart-shaped balloons that I was told to use for this design.  I'm going to work on it.  I'm going to come up with a similar design that will be as much fun to make as to play with.
