Wolfe Brothers

Nick and Brian Wolfe came to NY recently.
They're so inspiring - real cool.
Of course, the first thing I had to do was draw Caricatures.
Here's the one of Brian:

Then I got serious about picking their brains. I practiced on a Mannequin:

The Skull !

Gotta figure out the skull. That's the basis for all
the face-work I do - whether it's Face-Painting or
Caricature.

So here's a skull I practiced on a mannequin.
And someone's photo of a skull that I apparently made it
into my pile of papers a long time ago.

Looking good. Now I'm looking forward to real faces.
Everybody's Spider-Man-faces looking different than each other
would probably be explained by everybody's skull-faces looking
different than each other.

Little Girls

I love to make my big elaborate paintings. To totally transform the faces, so you're not really sure what the person usually looks like. But sometimes that's just not reasonable.

So here are a few simple faces that I created on some young children. It still makes the day Special:

Rainbows

Yes - Even Boys like Colors and Rainbows and Feeling Good. But gotta look right. So here's a Fun painting I did on a little boy - who didn't know yet that boys request Monsters and Spiders and Sharks. Still too young. So he requested one of the Rainbow Faces.

That's okay. But his Grandfather, concerned about 'the rules of the Playground', told me to add a moustache to it. Hahaha - that was Fun! Now I want to draw moustaches on Everyone!

Balloons are a harmless way to express yourself. Whether getting your brother's attention, or showing the world that you're just a sweet girl. I like to watch the kids after I make the balloons they request:

Simple Balloons

Not knocking myself out, trying to outdo the best most elaborate balloon-twisting that ever was. Just a few simple twists and a black marker, and we all had Fun.

Appreciated

Oh My Goodness! I just came here to post pictures of
the Balloons I recently made, but the first picture
was The Little Girl! The Little Girl, you say? Yes -
I'm so glad I have a photo of the little girl with the
Green Butterfly in the previous entry.

Because here's another picture of the same girl:

What had happened was that I was sitting in Central Park.
I'm not there often, so people who visit there regularly
are never sure of finding me.

A woman came by, asking if I remembered them. Because I had previously painted her daughter as a Green Butterfly. They had been so pleased with it that they had photographed the girl too. And they enlarged it, elaborately framed it, were just thrilled with it. They were so glad to see me again. And I, of course, was so glad to see them. Their story made me feel happy.

I live. I affect people's lives. It's a type of Fame that would live even if I myself ever die.

And for now, they asked, "could I possibly fix up the washed-out face-painting that someone else had done on the girl?" So I darkened the heart, added more contrast, and even a little jewel - Did what I couldwith what was there.

Next.
