was The Little Girl! The Little Girl, you say? Yes -
I'm so glad I have a photo of the little girl with the
Green Butterfly in the previous entry.
Because here's another picture of the same girl:
What had happened was that I was sitting in Central Park.
I'm not there often, so people who visit there regularly
are never sure of finding me.
A woman came by, asking if I remembered them. Because I had previously painted her daughter as a Green Butterfly. They had been so pleased with it that they had photographed the girl too. And they enlarged it, elaborately framed it, were just thrilled with it. They were so glad to see me again. And I, of course, was so glad to see them. Their story made me feel happy.
I live. I affect people's lives. It's a type of Fame that would live even if I myself ever die.
And for now, they asked, "could I possibly fix up the washed-out face-painting that someone else had done on the girl?" So I darkened the heart, added more contrast, and even a little jewel - Did what I couldwith what was there.
